About Waterloo Plain Environmental Park
This man-made lake has a central island for the protection of birdlife. The park area has exercise stations, picnic tables and offers free camping for campers, caravans and RV's. Pitch your tent amongst 11 hectares of parkland hugging the water lily-clad lake. Onsite facilities including showers, toilets and bins. Well known for its birdlife, Waterloo Plain is a popular wetlands for Twitchers to relax and enjoy birdwatching. Keep an eye out for the white-necked heron, rainbow bee-eater, whistling kite and the shining bronze cuckoos. There are up to 30 different species of birds that have been spotted within the area. The area also offers a self-guided heritage trail through the park, complete with walkways and bridges.
