About Wallangarra Historic Railway Station

Stand with one foot in Queensland and one foot in New South Wales when you stand on that station platform at the historic Wallangarra Railway Station. The railway station at Wallangarra was built in 1888 to service travellers who had to change trains from the standard gauge of New South Wales to Queensland's narrow gauge. The two trains met here and you will note the differing architecture of the platform façades too. One side of the platform reflects the New South Wales standard design for railways of that era, with a skillion roof, while the other is Queensland's design with its bullnose verandah roof.

Wallangarra Historic Railway Station appears in the QLD2032 tourism layer, part of the Southern Downs visitor economy. Explore nearby property intelligence via LotScan or locally-registered trades in the contractor directory.
