About Perry Bros Circus Elephant

Donated by Robert Perry, a descendant of the circus troupe that carved its name into history when it formed way back in the 1860s. A recently discovered fact is that Blackall is the birthplace of the Perry Brother’s Circus, the first circus to circumnavigate Australia and effectively kick-start the nation's circus industry. ‘Jumbo’ the Elephant is on display in Banks Park, flanked by a display showing the history of the Perry Brother’s origins in Blackall. ‘Jumbo’ is always ready for a special photo opportunity, visit him and relive the fun and magic of the circus.
