About Northern Spit Campsite, Henning Island
Northern Spit is located on the northern side of Henning Island, approximately 15 kilometres east-south-east of Shute Harbour. The campground overlooks Whitsunday and Hamilton Islands and is set behind nice sandy beaches, among native grasses and casurinas. The camp site is surrounded by a closed forest canopy. The camp site surface is sand and dirt. A camping permit is required to camp at Northern Spit. The campground has a capacity of 18 people. Open fires are not permitted in the Whitsunday Islands National Park. Northern Spit can be reached on all tides by boat (only). Facilities include a composting toilet and picnic tables. Take your own drinking water, rubbish bags, a fuel stove and insect repellent.
