About Nielson Park
Adjoining each other at the northern end of the Bargara Esplanade are the popular Schuhkraft Park and Nielson Park. The Turtle Trail pathway runs the length of both parks, providing kilometres of beautiful walking paths to enjoy while taking in stunning coastal views. Schuhkraft Park offers large open spaces with a playground, nature play, soccer goal posts, a basketball court and exercise equipment. It is a popular park for weddings and picnics as it looks out over the Coral Sea. Further north, Nielson Park is home to the Bundaberg Surf Life Saving Club and overlooks the patrolled Nielson surf beach. The Surf Life Saving Club café is a lovely spot to grab a coffee and soak up the sun. Nielsen Park also offers plenty of picnic tables, barbeques and facilities for a family get together. There is a playground for the kids and a skate park adjacent to the skating rink.
