About Mudjimba (Old Woman) Island Dive Site
Mudjimba (Old Woman) Island can be found a short boat ride from Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast. The Island offers treats for both snorkelers and divers, with coral gardens starting at just two metres deep for brilliant dives. Extensive fields of hard and soft coral cover the rocks, with plenty of gullies, ledges, bommies and small drop offs as you venture out further. An amazing variety of nudibranch species and invertebrates provide perfect subjects for macro photographers, with butterflyfish, lionfish, moray eels, wrasse, angelfish, morwong, surgeonfish, damsels, pufferfish and gobies easy to find on every dive. Mudjimba Island is also a good place to encounter turtles, with a good population of these marine reptiles found resting in the shallows.
