About Mt Mulligan Lodge
Located on a private 28,000-hectare heritage site, Mt Mulligan Lodge offers boutique accommodation in the shadow of Mount Mulligan. Guests will be able to experience the spirit of the Queensland outback through a captivating landscape with indigenous significance dating 37,000 years. The expansive property bears the marks of the historic gold and coal rush and, in its current operation as a working cattle station, the pastoral history of Australia. The lodge accommodates just 28 guests and features four different room types, a beautifully designed main pavilion for guest meals and relaxation, a pool and a sunset bar. Each guest room is also assigned its own electric buggy to explore the sprawling property. The lodge is accessible via a 35-minute scenic helicopter or fixed wing flight from Cairns or a 2.5-3 hour four-wheel drive adventure. The experiences have been designed to make the most of the rugged outback - guided tours of the goldfields, including a demonstration of Australia's oldest operating gold crusher at Tyrconnell, exploration of the historic coal mine and abandoned township, ATV adventures, gourmet picnic hampers, wildlife spotting, sunset drinks, stargazing, cattle station tours, hikes, barramundi fishing in the weir and the chance to experience the operations of a cattle station (during cattle muster dates).
