About Main Beach
Situated in the northern Gold Coast between Surfers Paradise and The Spit, Main Beach has a more mellow vibe where leisurely seaside strolls, tranquil sunrises and lazy days in the sand and surf come naturally. The clusters of palm trees that line the beach front enhance the tropical feel, and high end beachfront resorts and holiday apartments add to the laidback glam. Beach goers can enjoy long expansive stretches of sand and space with a great view south to the city skyline. The beachfront parklands are well equipped with BBQs, tables, shade structures, playgrounds and beach showers. Main Beach has two patrolled areas in front of Lifeguard Tower 39 and 40 - always swim between the flags. Surfers often find waves to ride at exposed beach breaks, but wave quality varies depending on swell direction, winds and sand bar formation.
