About Macleay Island Art Complex
The Gallery is positioned on the beautiful waterfront shores of Macleay Island and is reopening after a complete two million dollar rebuild funded from a Federal Government Grant. The building offers two galleries a potters studio, art studio, Cafe and bar across an expansive deck overlooking beautiful Moreton Bay. MIAC is very active in the SMBI Community, providing a vital service to the diverse range of residents and visitors. Current membership ranges from 7 to 92 years of age. MIAC envisages becoming a greater support to the community by: Building membership to attract more skilled teachers of various Arts. Underwriting artistic events held on Macleay and other islands in the community. Expand the Clay Kids amd Family afternoons for home-schooled children and their carers. Developing an Art for Youth Program for home-schooled children and their carers and extend that hand of friendship to include unsupported families.
