About Longreach School of Distance Education P&C Tourism
Imagine a classroom more than twice the size of Victoria, where the playground is as vast as the outback and the partnership between home and school is legendary. They invite you to join them in touring one of the largest classrooms in the world! Observe their school in action and learn how education is delivered using technology in the bush. The Longreach School of Distance Education (formerly known as Longreach School of the Air) is a unique experience and is one of 16 distance education schools in the country and one of seven in Queensland. Tours are run twice daily, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays and Queensland Christmas School Holidays. Bookings are essential. Your tour will take approximately one hour. Proceeds from sales from the Tours Shop are used to provide support and resources for students such as mini-schools/clusters, library resources and school camps. Souvenirs are available to purchase upon your visit, or by emailing your order to the school.
