About Joe's Beach Campground - Whitsunday Island
Joe’s Beach is located on Whitsunday Island, at Cid Harbour, approximately 17 kilometres east-north-east of Shute Harbour. The campground is a secluded site, set right on the beach and provides fantastic views of Cid Island and the Molle group of islands. The fringing reef is exposed at low tide and is good snorkelling on mid to high tides. Take off for the day on your canoe or kayak and cruise through the deep, blue waters to explore Cid Harbour, an anchorage used by the Australian and allied navies during World War II. End the day reeling in some fresh fish for dinner—cast a line from your boat or straight off the beach. The camp site surface is sand and dirt. A camping permit is required with Whitsunday Islands National Park. The campground has a capacity of 12 people. Joe’s Beach can be reached on a mid to high tide by boat (only). There is a protected anchorage at the beach. Facilities include a composting toilet and picnic tables. Take your own drinking water, rubbish bags, a fuel stove and insect repellent.
