Located on the Flinders Highway beside Lakeview Caravan Park, Jack Brown Lions Park War Memorial is Richmond's principal war memorial and a place of remembrance for the local community. Dedicated on 25 April 2001, the memorial symbolises three rifles marking the graves of three ANZAC soldiers who lost their lives at the Battle of the Somme during the First World War. Inspired by the original battlefield crosses, which were made from artillery shells and ammunition boxes, the memorial features a striking steel cross extending beyond the uprights. The memorial includes Rolls of Honour recognising men and women from the Richmond region who served and died in Australia's conflicts, along with individual plaques honouring veterans. The three supporting struts display badges representing Australia's defence services. Surrounded by shady trees and green lawns, the park is an ideal place for travellers to relax. Facilities include clean public toilets, picnic tables and ample parking, including spaces suitable for caravans and motorhomes. Visitors can also explore the collection of unique moon rocks displayed throughout the park.
