About Fountain Springs

One hour and 12 minutes west of Cloncurry, Fountain Springs is a natural waterhole set amongst a dramatic rocky outcrop. During and after a big wet season, the waterhole is a great place to cool off. Soak in the serenity of the location as the song of wild birds bounces off the rocky outcrops that form a natural sound stage around you. Fountain Springs is part of the Ballara Mining Heritage Trail, a 4WD historical adventure to old mining towns. The trail takes you into the heart of the Argylla Ranges, a spectacular landscape. Pick up a Ballara Mining Heritage Trail brochure from the Cloncurry Unearthed Visitor Information Centre.
