About First City Caravilla

Welcome to the beautiful city of Cairns. The city of Cairns in Tropical North Queensland, was founded in 1876 and named after William Wellington Cairns, Governor of Queensland. It is nestled between a 180 million-year-old rainforest (the oldest in the world) and the Great Barrier Reef (one of the seven wonders of the world) is 500,000 years young, with geological records indicates that it was formed at least 240 million years ago. Cairns is a vibrant tropical city with lovely gardens connecting Cairns Central Shopping Centre to the Esplanade’s 5.1 kilometres long walking and exercise trail overlooking Trinity Bay and mudflats home to a huge array of wildlife including the world’s most incredible long-distance voyagers, the great knots and sharp-tailed sandpipers which made it all the way from Siberia in the Arctic to Cairns. At First City Caravilla they have camping sites, caravan sites, budget cabins, en suite cabins and storage, they can accommodate any size van, bus or fifth wheeler. The Caravan Park was built in 1970 and opened the doors to first guests in February 1971 and the Hughes family still operate the park to this day, making it the longest locally owned and operated Caravan Park in North Queensland.
