About Experience Nature - Ipswich
Experience Nature is a guided environmental discovery series delivered in partnership with Ipswich City Council's Environment and Sustainability team. These immersive experiences invite participants to explore Ipswich's diverse landscapes – from botanic gardens and conservation estates to the waterways of the Bremer River – while deepening understanding of local ecosystems, cultural heritage and environmental stewardship. Walk through the layered habitats of Kholo Botanic Gardens, where remnant vine thicket meets rehabilitated dry rainforest and expansive eucalypt forest. Paddle along the Bremer River to learn about the importance of healthy water systems and the wildlife that depends on them. Or step into the forest at dusk on family-friendly nocturnal detective adventures that reveal the hidden life of the bush after dark. Led by knowledgeable guides and rangers, each session blends education with exploration, encouraging curiosity about the plants, animals and natural processes that shape Ipswich's landscapes. Designed for families, young explorers and environmentally curious participants of all ages, Experience Nature offers meaningful opportunities to connect with Country, understand sustainability in action and discover how small actions can contribute to healthier ecosystems. It's nature – explored with purpose.
