About Doomben Racecourse

As the leading metropolitan race club in Queensland, the Brisbane Racing Club conducts more than 80 race meetings and hosts more than 200,000 patrons each year. Race meetings are conducted at the club’s two racecourses, Eagle Farm and Doomben. The Brisbane Racing Club also hosts many other feature racing events including Girls Day Out (February), Mekka Raceday (August), Country Music Raceday (September) and Melbourne Cup Day (November). Highlights on the racing calendar include their mid-year racing carnival - The Star Stradbroke Season (May/June) as well as the Ladbrokes Spring Racing Carnival (October/November) and Road to Magic Millions Summer Carnival (December) . These racing events feature black-type races attracting wide interest from the public, media and industry. The Star Stradbroke Season consists of six feature meetings from May to June. Each year this racing extravaganza brings some outstanding proven racehorses from all states and New Zealand to compete with the very best Queensland horses. Many of the superstars from the training and riding ranks throughout Australasia will have a presence at the meetings. Major races on the calendar include the Doomben 10,000, Doomben Cup, Queensland Oaks, Kingsford Smith Cup and Queensland's most prestigious race, the Stradbroke Handicap.
