About Curlew Shack

Curlew Shack has just had a complete renovation inside and out. The addition of a large, friendly, covered outdoor area complete with Weber barbecue, as well as a complete inside re-fit including a new bathroom, has provided a contemporary take on an old style Straddie beach shack. The main bedroom is air-conditioned and private. The second bedroom also has air conditioning and doubles as a lounging area, to the side of the kitchen. The self-composting toilet is a remarkable piece of eco-engineering with a modern odour free environment and an old school "sawdust flush." Just a hop, skip and a jump to Bob's shop, and a 5-minute walk to Cylinder and Deadman's beaches, Curlew is in a great, central location. Perfect for a weekend away with a young family or a couple with a small dog. The shack has neither wi-fi or television, so if it's an "unplugged" break you're after, Curlew Shack is the place. Nestled at the bottom of a steep, sloping block, the shack is shaded by several old gum trees and, as the name suggests, a resident group of Curlews provide constant companionship.
