About Cornerstone Stores
Cornerstone Stores is a boutique mixed-use retail precinct on Queensland's southern Gold Coast in Tugun, directly opposite Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. The precinct is built around an inward-facing courtyard with a central Pandanus palm and houses nine independent stores including a cafe, fromagerie and cellar, organic butcher, barber, wellness studio, holiday-stays operator, lifestyle boutique, activewear retailer and teacher-training headquarters. Architecturally designed by Brisbane practice Richards and Spence, the building won the 2018 Think Brick Award for its considered use of red brick, raw concrete and timber. The palette is intentionally limited and the courtyard creates a quiet, sheltered communal space. Open seven days, Cornerstone is dog-friendly throughout the courtyard, offers free on-site parking and is fully accessible at ground level. It sits just six minutes by car from Gold Coast Airport, making it a natural first or last stop on the drive between the airport and Byron Bay. Visitors can grab a coffee from early morning, browse local makers and independent retailers, take a yoga class, get a haircut or stock the holiday fridge, all within one Tugun courtyard.
