About Collinsville Qld Historical Display Centre and Museum

The district Historical Society Display Centre and Museum opened its doors in 2014 and is housed in some of the rooms of the old Collinsville hospital building. The rooms are filled with local historical photos, memorabilia and much more. It includes a printing press and theatre projection camera from early Collinsville. It also boasts a fine vintage camera display, an impressive bottle collection, and a display of the various medical instruments that were actually used in some of those very rooms. A recent addition has been the Leaverite Display, showcasing the rocks and minerals that can be found in the area. The small band of volunteers work tirelessly to preserve local history and items for public viewing. It is easily accessible by road with off street parking available. Group bookings welcome. The Society is also the custodian for the heritage listed BCCM No 1 Mine Site and tours can be booked here or on the BCCM listing also.
