The accredited Visitor Information Centre staff are friendly and knowledgeable and can provide you with local information, maps, brochures and accommodation details. The museum takes you on a journey through the Cloncurry's history, with displays on Burke and Wills, Mary Kathleen Mine and town, and showcases the great mineral wealth of the district. See the collection of memorabilia on Cloncurry and district and one of Australia's most comprehensive gem and mineral collections. The outdoor museum displays mining and pastoral machinery, including traction engines, a Tamrok drill rig, and a unique 1940s Ford rail ambulance. Step back in time and discover the history of the Mary Kathleen Police Station. Sit and relax in the shaded parklands, and let the kids stretch their legs in the playground while you enjoy your coffee. Free barbecues are available for your convenience. It is a short walk to the lookout with central views of Cloncurry.
