Strait Experience is a locally operated, majority Indigenous-owned tourism business connecting visitors with authentic experiences across the Torres Strait. Based on Thursday Island and Masig Island, Strait Experience works with Traditional Owners, local operators, guides and accommodation providers to create culturally respectful and memorable journeys. Visitors can discover remote island communities, living Torres Strait Islander culture, spectacular Sea Country, wildlife, heritage, local food and unique island experiences. Journeys range from cultural and wellness experiences to birdwatching, kite surfing and carefully curated island escapes. Strait Experience prioritises Indigenous-owned businesses and local communities. Experiences are designed to support local employment, preserve culture and create meaningful connections between visitors and the people of the Torres Strait.
