Seated in the back is his daughter, Dorothy Bishop — herself a trailblazer as Queensland's first woman certified as a pilot. The Bishops were true pioneers: Harry Bishop helped introduce motor vehicles to North and West Queensland in 1908, selling REO Motor Cars, bicycles, oils, lubricants, and accessories from his bustling Gill Street showroom. His forward-thinking spirit didn't stop at the ground level; it soared into the skies, inspiring his daughter to become a pioneer of commercial aviation across Queensland.
